We have been producers of North Country Cheviot sheep since the mid 1960′s with an emphasis on profitable, practical breeding stock for the purebred and commercial shepherd, as well as producing top quality Fresh Ontario Lamb.
We currently run a flock of 45 registered North Country Cheviots and a separate flock of 100 North Country Cheviot cross ewes. In both flocks we strive to produce lambs that are true to the breed character: medium sized, deep bodied, good bone and well-muscled.
The flock is primarily closed, meaning we keep back our own ewe lambs for replacements and only introduce new rams when outcross bloodlines are required. We maintain a high health status on the farm through quarantining of new rams, routine vaccination programs, and providing proper nutrition by feed sampling.
The ewes are bred in the fall with the purebred ewes lambing in January/February and the cross bred ewes lambing in March. All lambs are weaned in early June and are available for sale.
